Important things to remember!
If your accommodation is particularly far from the slopes, or you plan to visit nearby ski areas, driving to your resort may make sense.

But mountains can be inhospitable places for cars, with low temperatures, corrosive salt and poor driving conditions. They can also be inhospitable for drivers, unless you enjoy shovelling snow and putting on chains.

Before setting off, make sure that your car is prepared: antifreeze and wiper fluid must be capable of withstanding at least -20oC (-4oF), and you should use a good quality winter oil.
